The challenge was to set the type from The Book of Exodus in a unique and thought provoking way. Most of the class was glorifying the text but I wanted to do the exact opposite. I think it is too far embedded within our culture and wanted to tear it down or make it disappear. The original idea was to print black on black, but since I did not have the resources I printed on a dark grey sheet of paper. This provided a vanishing effect.
In addition to this print, a large B&W poster was made that I pasted on the street to see what kind of reaction it would get. There was a little bit of action including a huge brontosaurus that someone had painted on it. (Not Pictured)
I also submitted this piece to the Type Directors Club to be printed in their annual. I haven't heard back from them.
