The assignment was to re-design a poster for one of your favorite theatrical plays. While traveling through London with my best friend years ago we came across a very strange but simply amazing play that is one of the best I've seen to this day. I laughed so hard! The problem is that I have never seen a single printed poster for this show, only little magazine advertisements and the actual children's book that the play is based off of.
What I did here was take an illustration from a re-print of the book. I enlarged the image until you could see the spot print pattern to show that it is an old illustration reproduced in modern time, just like the play. What is so great about this project is that once we were given the assignment I went home to do research on the website, shockheadedpeter.com and to my surprise they were coming to NYC in the near future. I ended up doing a poster for this actual show.
