At the beginning of my senior year at SVA I decided that I wanted to create a series of paintings I could include in my portfolio. This is 1 of the 4 wood panels that the idea turned into. I actually found the panels tied up on the street with unfinished paintings on them. I took them, painted gesso over them, added my marks and this is the result. These 2 pieces are influenced by the Swishahouse crew and graffitied walls I was seeing around town. The edges of these wood panels, which are about 1.75" thick, have artwork on them which can't be seen in this picture.
This piece was sold to a collector/friend of mine in NYC prior to my departure back home to Houston.
