Blind Connections is a feature of complementary art from Derek Shumate (visual), and Hunter Curra (audio) formed around a collective interest in applications of spontaneity, collage, and constant instances of composition. Shumate attempts to remain unfamiliar with each new work allowing him self to act solely as a channel for raw ideas to flow through, and onto any surface available. Curra has complemented these ideas of blind aesthetics with a collection of 60 some separate recorded audio textures for the audience to trigger and create new instantaneous compositions through surrounding speakers. The show will run from the opening Friday Sept.16th 8:30pm through Sunday Oct. 16th.
